Where the Wild Things Stay is a captivating group exhibition hosted at FOUND:RE Contemporary in downtown Phoenix, running from January 16 through July 12, 2026. This exhibition cycle centers on the diverse roles animals play in our lives—ranging from the comforting presence of domestic pets to the untamed majesty of wildlife. Featuring a wide array of local Arizona artists, the collection utilizes both 2D and 3D mediums to explore how we connect with, observe, and mythologize the animal kingdom in a modern context.
Animals Take Center Stage
The show invites viewers to contemplate the intersections of human and animal habitats through various artistic lenses, including painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Participating artists, such as Robin Berning, Kara Chaddock, and Barbara Clements, contribute works that vary from literal representations of fauna to more abstract interpretations of biological themes. By displaying these works throughout the hotel’s public halls and dedicated gallery spaces, the exhibition transforms the environment into a curated exploration of nature within an urban setting.
FOUND:RE Contemporary is a premier commercial gallery and cultural hub located within the FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel in the heart of the Roosevelt Row Arts District. A collaboration with Artlink, the gallery serves as a dynamic platform for both emerging and established local artists, integrating high-end contemporary art into the daily experience of the hotel’s guests and the surrounding community. With three distinct gallery areas, an art lounge, and a six-story exterior video wall, FOUND:RE Contemporary is a staple of the monthly First Friday Art Walks and a central figure in Phoenix’s thriving creative landscape.
