12×12 Member Fundraiser and Exhibition
The Fiber Arts Center Arizona (FAC) is currently hosting its 12×12 Exhibition, a special showcase featuring the diverse talents of its members. This exhibition is centered on the unique constraint of a 12″ x 12″ format, allowing artists to explore their “best fiber work” within a standardized frame size.
Exhibition Highlights
-
Format: All entries are limited to a 12-inch by 12-inch size, encouraging a focused look at texture, technique, and detail.
-
Mission: The exhibit highlights a wide range of textile disciplines, which typically include weaving, spinning, felting, embroidery, and mixed-media fiber arts.
-
Sales: In keeping with the center’s mission to support makers, proceeds from the exhibition are split between the artist and the Fiber Arts Center.
Current Context (May 2026)
The 12×12 Exhibition is running alongside the center’s first in-person group exhibition, “Ruins, Relics, and Rituals,” which is currently on display at the Olney Gallery at Trinity Cathedral in downtown Phoenix (April 23 – May 28, 2026).
While the 12×12 format is a recurring member favorite, it is often featured as a primary digital or satellite gallery event to complement larger thematic shows like the one at Olney. Members of the Fiber Arts Center Arizona are known for pushing the boundaries of traditional crafts, moving from utilitarian items into contemporary art.
